Our Story
Machaan Films is not an attempt to define or claim ownership over Maithili cinema, but a sincere effort to reignite curiosity and excitement around it. The journey began with short films—simple, honest stories drawn from real emotions and everyday life, told in Maithili. These narratives reflect the soil, people, struggles, and emotional depth of Mithila.
As the audience grows and the love and support of viewers continue to strengthen, Machaan Films aims to gradually move toward larger and more ambitious film projects, while staying true to its cultural and creative roots.
At the heart of Machaan Films lies a strong commitment to working with local artists and nurturing new creators—especially Maithili actors, writers, and filmmakers. The vision is to build not just films, but a sustainable and connected creative ecosystem where cinema becomes an accessible, expressive, and valued medium within the Maithili community.
